How To Edit The PSD File In Canva ?
Yes, you heard it right. Now Canva allows its users to edit PSD files in canva with a few easy steps. In this tutorial, I will share all the steps with snippets from Canva for easy understanding to convert Photoshop files or designs into Canva.
PSD is the file extension of Adobe Photoshop. If you are working as a Canva designer and don’t have any command of photoshop then don’t worry. Many websites allow users to download designs in PSD format for free. Freepik is one of my favorites.
How To Edit The PSD File In Canva ?
Step 1 — Go to Freepik and write the design type you need for your project. For example, You need to create an Instagram post so write this keyword in the search bar, also select the file type PSD on the left side of the screen. See the below snippet for a better understanding.
Step 2 — After downloading the file from Freepik, open Canva and press the button “Upload” in your upper right corner. Browse your PSD file from your PC or laptop, make sure to select file type “All files” while browsing your design file otherwise you may not find it on your PC while uploading it in Canva.
Once the uploading process completes, the design file will appear in your project folder, see the below image for your reference.
Step 3 — Now comes the editing part. You can see below the design that some of the text is misaligned. This is very easy to align all the text in Canva. To insert the image on the right side of this design, You can either select the appropriate frame from the canva element section like in this design, I selected the Blob frame or create a custom canva frame as per your requirement. I have shared three ways to create a custom frame in canva already in a separate tutorial on medium.
Step 4 — With minor editing, Your Canva design for the Instagram post will be ready.
